Green Bay Packers legend Clay Matthews read a “message” from President Trump at the 2025 NFL draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

During the draft Matthews took the stage and took out a piece of paper and shared, “I just got off the phone with the president, Donald Trump. He asked me to pass a message along to all 32 NFL franchises. Let me tell you what it reads here alright.”

He added, “My fellow Americans, THE BEARS STILL SUCK!!!”

It’s unknown if the emssage was actually from President trump or Matthews was just trolling.

Packers legend Clay Matthews III helped open the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay alongside other greats and the NFL commissioner.

On a night the United States celebrates the next generation of NFL superstars, opening night of the draft on April 24, the six-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion said he had a message from the country’s leader.

“I’m gonna go off script here real quick … Roger,” Matthews said as he stormed to the podium following NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s speech.

“I just got off the phone with the president, Donald Trump. He asked me to pass a message along to all 32 NFL franchises. Let me tell you what it reads here alright.”

Matthews then revealed a letter that read, “My fellow Americans, THE BEARS STILL SUCK!!!”

The Chicago faithful are likely to hear about their struggling franchise all weekend long since the draft is in Green Bay, where the Bears are longtime enemies and rivals of the Packers.

Per Fox News:

No matter how long Clay Matthews is away from the Green Bay Packers, he will always have hatred for the Chicago Bears.

The former linebacker took the stage in Green Bay with several of his former Packers teammates, and Packers superman Lil Wayne.

After Goodell greeted the fans, Matthews, unannounced, took the mic and got the crowd fired up by reading a “message” from President Donald Trump.

Matthews apologized to the commissioner for going “off script,” but it was an electric moment.

“I just got off the phone with the president, Donald Trump. He asked me to pass a message along to all 32 NFL franchises. Let me tell you what it reads here, alright?” Matthews began.

“It says ,’My fellow Americans, the Bears still suck!”
