A billionaire friend of Prince William, who was on Forbes’ richest men list, has died after being stung by a bee.

Multiple reports have revealed that billionaire Sunjay Kapur died from a heart attack after mistakenly swallowing a bee.

The Daily Mail had more details about the bizarre death:

A billionaire friend of Prince William has died after reportedly swallowing a bee.

Sunjay Kapur, 53, collapsed in front of horrified teammates during the game at Guards Polo Club in Windsor.

Indian-born Mr Kapur was thought to have suffered a fatal heart attack after being stung in the mouth, potentially triggering anaphylactic shock.

Mr Kapur, chairman of global car parts giant Sona Comstar, had hours earlier paid tribute online to the victims of yesterday’s Air India plane crash tragedy.

He posted: ‘Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour.’

In a statement, Sona Comstar said: ‘We are deeply saddened by the sudden demise of our Chairman, Mr Sunjay Kapur.
‘He was a visionary leader whose passion, insight and dedication shaped the identity and success of our company.’
Author and actor Suhel Seth posted on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Deeply saddened at the passing of @sunjaykapur: he passed away earlier today in England.

MSN gave a little background on Kapur:

Kupar was only 53. The cause of death was a “fatal heart attack” triggered by the bee swallowing, the Mirror reported.
“While playing polo…the bee stung Kapur in his mouth,” Mirror added.

Kupar was a friend of Prince William. His ex-wife was Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor, who made allegations against him when their divorce became hostile, Mirror noted.

Kapoor received bonds for their kids, Samaira and Kiaan, and “also transferred ownership of a Mumbai house to her as part of the settlement” when the couple divorced, Times of India reported. They married in 2003 and divorced in 2016, and family members were seen entering Kapoor’s home after Kapur’s death, the publication noted.
