The family of this trucker could use some prayers.

A tractor-trailer driver for Perdue has died after driving off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.

According to investigators, the weather was not a factor in the accident.

WBOC was the first to report on the accident:

Officials say around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, a tractor trailer went overboard and into the water on the west-side of the southbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.

The accident occurred just south of Fisherman’s Island. No other vehicles were involved.

In a statement to WBOC, Perdue confirmed that the driver died in the incident.

“We are heartbroken to confirm that a Perdue driver has passed away following an accident on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge‑Tunnel,” Perdue’s statement reads. “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. He had been a valued member of our team, and his loss will be deeply felt across our organization.”

The company says it is fully cooperating with investigators.

On Sunday night, authorities with the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel identified Ronnie Andrews, 61, of Robersonville, NC, as the driver.

Coast TV has since identified the driver:

Authorities have identified the driver killed in Sunday’s early-morning tractor-trailer crash on the southbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel as 61-year-old Ronnie Andrews from Robersonville, North Carolina.

The accident occurred around 6:40 a.m. near the North Channel Bridge just south of Fisherman’s Island. No other cars were involved, according to officials.

An investigation is still underway into what caused the driver to drive off the bridge.

Obama fidgeted in his seat. “When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air,” Obama said. “The truth is that when I came into office I asked ‘Is there a lab somewhere where we’re keeping the alien specimens and spaceships?’ They did a little bit of research and the answer was ‘No.’”

“But what is true is that there is footage and records of objects in the sky that we don’t know exactly what they are. How they move, their trajectory,” Obama continued. “They did not have an easily explainable pattern. So I think that people still take that seriously and try to figure out what that is. But I have nothing to report to you today.”

Academy Award-winning actor Robert Duvall has died.

The actor who starred in the Godfather and “Apocalypse Now” has died at the age of 95.

His wife, Luciana, announced Duvall’s death in a post online.

Fox News broke the story on Duvall’s death:

Robert Duvall died Sunday, according to his wife Luciana. He was 95.

Circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately made available.

“Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time,” his wife shared online. “Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.”

“To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything. His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court. For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented. ”

She continued, “In doing so, he leaves something lasting and unforgettable to us all. Thank you for the years of support you showed Bob and for giving us this time and privacy to celebrate the memories he leaves behind.”

USA Today reported on Duvall’s legacy in the film industry:

He played a wide array of unforgettable men, from Mafia lawyer Tom Hagen in Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather” to the surf and napalm-loving Lt. Col. Bill Kilgore in Coppola’s Vietnam War saga “Apocalypse Now,” in which Duvall utter the immortal line, “I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like victory.”

His domineering Air Force patriarch Bull Meechum in “The Great Santini” burst onto movie screens in 1979, earning another Oscar nomination. Just for good measure, he appeared that same year as Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower in the TV miniseries “Ike: The War Years.”

A wind turbine has made the news again, and like most times, not for a good reason.

A wind turbine in Texas caught fire after reportedly being struck by lightning.

Firefighters who responded to the scene captured a video of the burning turbine, which showed it ablaze and releasing heavy black smoke into the air.

NPR reported the Trump administration has halted dozens of wind turbine projects that had a price tag of billions of dollars:

Late last month, the Trump administration halted construction on billions of dollars worth of offshore wind projects after the Defense Department allegedly raised new national security concerns about the facilities. But no one outside the federal government seems to know what sort of threats the administration has found. So far, the government has been unwilling to release that information even to the companies building the projects.

The Interior Department sent stop-work orders on December 22 to the developers of five wind projects off the East Coast. The orders were based on classified reports recently completed by the Defense Department. The Interior Department said pausing construction would give federal agencies time to work with project developers to try to mitigate potential risks.

Companies building infrastructure projects routinely work with the federal government to deal with issues that regulators raise, including around national security. Without information about newly-discovered threats, companies building the wind projects have said in court filings that they can’t address the government’s concerns. They said the lack of transparency suggests the administration’s goal is to block wind projects, rather than to deal with legitimate national security issues.

Wendy’s decline continues.

The once-popular fast-food restaurant Wendy’s has announced it will close hundreds of locations in the coming months.

In total, Wendy’s is expected to close over 350 locations that have experienced sales declines over the last couple of years.

Fox Business provided the full scoop on why Wendy’s is closing its doors at many locations:

Fast-food giant Wendy’s will close hundreds of its U.S. restaurants as it looks to focus on value and boost lagging sales in the domestic market.

In the October through December quarter, the fast-food giant reported same-store sales, or sales at restaurants open for at least one year, declined 11.3% in the U.S.

While Wendy’s previously announced late last year its intent to close underperforming restaurants, interim CEO Ken Cook provided more details on Friday during the company’s call with investors.

Cook said that the company shuttered 28 locations in the fourth quarter of 2025 and expects to close 5% to 6% of its 5,959 restaurants, or 298 to 358 locations, in the first half of this year.

The planned closures occur as the fast-food giant continues its turnaround plan dubbed Project Fresh. Announced in October 2025, Wendy’s said the strategy is “designed to revitalize the brand, reignite growth, [and] accelerate profitability.”

Part of its plan to win back customers is shifting its focus to value, as many core customers still feel strained by higher living costs.

“Learning from 2025 around value, we swung the pendulum too far towards limited-time price promotions instead of everyday value,” Cook said during the call.

Wendy’s is not the only fast-food chain that is struggling.

USA Today reported Pizza Hut is also closing hundreds of locations:

Pizza Hut is set to close 250 “underperforming” locations in the United States in the first half of 2026 as its parent company, Yum! Brands Inc. continues a strategic review of the struggling brand.

During a Feb. 4 Yum! Brands earnings call, Chief Financial Officer Ranjith Roy said that the move was part of “Hut Forward,” a strategy which includes “vibrant marketing, modernization of technology, and franchise agreements.”

“While we don’t share specific details of franchise agreements, we are pleased to be working in partnership with our franchisees on increased efforts to deliver near-term sales while advancing long-term strategy,” Yum! Brands told Restaurant Business Online in an emailed statement.

The FBI is starting to have a breakthrough in its investigation into the abduction of Nancy Guthrie.

As the search has entered its third week, the FBI has announced that they have collected DNA evidence from a glove that was found near Nancy Guthrie’s home.

The glove discovered reportedly matches the black gloves seen on the suspect in the FBI’s surveillance video released earlier in the week.

Fox News reported the latest details on the FBI’s investigation:

An FBI spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Sunday that a glove with a DNA profile recovered in the Nancy Guthrie case is different from other gloves that have been found and appears to match the gloves of the subject seen in the surveillance video.

Investigators collected approximately 16 gloves in various areas near the house, the spokesperson said, noting that most of them were searchers’ gloves that they discarded in various areas when they searched the vicinity.

“The one with the DNA profile recovered is different and appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video,” the spokesperson said.

Experts have said the gloves that the subject appears to be wearing in doorbell video outside Nancy Guthrie’s home look like nitrile gloves that are pulled over another pair of gloves.

The FBI spokesperson said the gloves found in a field near the side of the road about two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home were packaged up by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and sent overnight Thursday to a private lab in Florida, adding that they arrived at the lab on Friday.

The FBI received preliminary results on Saturday, according to the spokesperson, and are awaiting quality control and official confirmation before putting the unknown male profile into CODIS, the bureau’s national DNA database. The spokesperson said this process typically takes 24 hours from when the bureau receives DNA.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Fox News on Sunday that DNA results in the Nancy Guthrie case are still pending at the private lab in Florida and could take anywhere from one to 10 days “depending on the urgency we place on any one item.”

CNN provided details on how the FBI will use the DNA found in the glove:

The FBI says DNA from the recovered glove is being analyzed to determine the identity of a possible suspect.

A first step for investigators when obtaining DNA evidence is to run it through criminal databases to determine if it matches a known criminal.

As part of a burgeoning field known as investigative genetic genealogy, authorities would also likely be submitting the evidence to third-party DNA mapping services offered to the general public. Even if the suspect has never used one of these services, a family member might have, which can provide clues to the suspect’s identity based on the unique nature of family DNA profiling.

Familial DNA was a critical tool used by police in the case of Bryan Kohberger, who was convicted of killing four Idaho college students.

Beyond DNA testing, if the recovered glove is determined to belong to the suspect seen at Guthrie’s home, the location where it was found could be the most important clue yet suggesting his route of travel after her suspected abduction.
